There are many factors that should go into the decision to buy a new pair of shoes \u2013and simply selecting the first pair you see in your size is not always the best option.<br \/>\nHere are some of the dangers that can occur from poor fitting shoes.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make Bunions Worse<br \/>\nBunions are the boney lumps that appear at the base of your big toe or on the side of your foot. They occur when the big toe is pushed out of position causing pressure against your other toes. Wearing poor-fitting shoes is one of the number one causes of bunions \u2013even smaller bunions can be made worse by ill-fitting shoes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Cause Heel Pain<br \/>\nHeel pain is another common problem related to ill-fitting shoes. Improper footwear that don\u2019t support your feet the way they should can lead to heel pain \u2013both in the front and back of your heel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Cause Blisters, Corns and Calluses<br \/>\nWhen your shoes don\u2019t fit properly, they rub against your skin \u2013causing blisters, corns and calluses. Blisters, corns, and calluses can be painful and irritating.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Increase Your Chances of Fungal Infections<br \/>\nFungal infections \u2013such as athlete\u2019s foot can be prevented by wearing shoes that fit properly.
